B.S., Bioengineering (Biotechnology)

Summary

I’m originally from The Big Island of Hawaii but lived in the Bay Area for a while before coming to UCSD where I completed my undergrad and earned a BS in Bioengineering (Biotechnology). I got into the 5-year BS/MS program during my last year of undergrad and I am now completing the MS portion (also in the bioengineering department). In my undergrad, I worked in Dr Coleman’s lab with Dr. Philip kyriakakis on a molecular biology project with the goal of editing an HSV genome for large dna construct delivery. In the yeo lab, im working with Elliot to create a complete RBP library in the hopes of using it to identify those responsible for neurodegenerative diseases such as ASL. In my free time I love to play with my dog, go running/hiking, and cook and bake.
