Tasnia is an undergraduate student at UCSD studying Molecular and Cell Biology. She is intrigued by the advances of gene therapy and its potential to combat incurable diseases. As a high school senior, she interned in Dr. Paula Cannon’s research lab at USC Health Sciences Campus and facilitated a project on developing a lentiviral vector for targeted gene delivery to CD4+ T-cells. In the Yeo Lab, she is mentored by Josh Schwartz to study neurogenesis linked to syndromic autism spectrum disorders (sASD) by assisting with cryosectioning and staining cortical organoid models of autism. Outside of lab and school, she likes eating out, hiking, and playing volleyball and table tennis.
